Narrative

Today we traveled from Cordele, GA to Fayette, AL. We were supposed to only go to Tascaloosa, AL but I kept driving :)

The alarm went off at 7am this morning. I reached over and turned it off. Then Snoopy was licking my nose and the clock said 9:30a! Wow! Two and a half hours went by quick :)

Getting ready to go, coffee, dog food, etc. took about 30 minutes, so we left Cordele about 10am.

This was a nice day for traveling. About 60 degrees. Beautiful blue sky, warming sun. Really pretty. It clouded up some in the afternoon and spit rain a litle.

Listned on the radio to "Weekend with Mike McConnell" and "The Kim Komando Show." Spent almost an hour chatting on the CB with Bluebird, a lady trucker from Montana. We traveled Hwy 22 and US-83 together. Nice chat. She's been on the road nine days and really misses her husband and kids.

Overall, a great day.

And, FWIW, last night was the coldest ever for van camping. The sleeping bag kept me nice and warm and Snoop's blanket, better known as a folded up beach towel, worked well. I woke up a couple of times during the night and reached under the towel to scratch his ears and check him for warmth. He was nice and snuggly warm :)

And for you computer geeks out there, here's a link, as promised yesterday, to the New Toys page.

Thought For The Day

Some seasonal bad news from Elizabeth in SC:

There will be no Nativity Scene in Washington, DC, this year!

Yeah, it's a bummer, but the Supreme Court has ruled that there cannot be a Nativity Scene in Washington, DC this Christmas season. But the absence isn't for a religious reason.

Washington DC officials had no problem finding enough asses to fill the stable. But they ran into a brick wall trying to find three wise men and a virgin in the Nation's capitol.

Joke Of The Day

From Charlie in SC:

When Abraham Lincoln is asked for a picture ID, do ya reckon he whips out a five dollar bill?
