Confession time... I sleep with The Navigator. Have been since he was a puppy :)

Sometimes The Navigator dreams while he's sleeping. Sometimes this wakes me up. He'll moan and groan and will move his legs like he's trying to run.

But last night, he had a doozie of a dream. Moaning and groaning. I had to ask him to cut it out several times. He kept waking me up.

Thinking about this now as I write this, I'm wondering what caused the dream? Could it have been the roast beef from the Flying J buffet last night? Or maybe the movie we watched last night? I'm betting on the movie. The Navigator 'bout melts every time he sees Lady :)

Back to business.

I got up this morning at 4:30am and we were on the road by 5. I think I woke up so early because I went to bed earlier than normal. That and The Navigator making all that racket with his doggie dreams :)

By the time we got to Atlanta, The Navigator had finally awoken and taken his post. Just as well, too, as the route out of Atlanta was a mess. The Delorme software showed roads on the map that did not exist. The Navigator, to his credit, jumped right in and calculated alternate routes as needed.

We got home at 11:00am. As usual, The Navigator hit it dead on. Last night he predicted 6-7 hours to drive home and it took six. How does he do that?

The summary for this trip is down below after the joke. Be sure to scroll down and check out the State Capitols Recap, a new feature.

This was a nice, enjoyable trip. A little too fast perhaps. But it was jammed in between volunteer jobs :)

Our next trip probably won't be until next spring. Lots of volunteer stuff between now and then.

Scenario: Pedro fails high school English.

1973: Pedro goes to summer school, passes English, goes to college.

2006: Pedroís cause is taken up by state Democratic party. Newspaper articles appear nationally explaining that teaching English as a requirement for graduation is racist. ACLU files class action lawsuit against state school system and Pedroís English teacher. English banned from core curriculum. Pedro's English teacher put on administrative leave and eventually fired. Pedro given diploma anyway but ends up mowing lawns for a living because he canít speak English.

From Denise in IN:

Five more thoughts from the Texas Cattleman

It don't take a very big person to carry a grudge.

You can't unsay a cruel thing.

Every path has some puddles.

When you wallow with pigs, expect to get dirty.

The best sermons are lived, not preached.

A blonde adventure from JP in FL:

I was having some work done at the car dealer yesterday. A blonde woman came in and asked for a seven-hundred-ten.

One of the mechanics asked, "What is a seven-hundred-ten?"

She replied, "You know, the little piece in the middle of the engine. I lost it and need a new one. It had always been there."

The mechanic gave the woman a piece of paper and a pen and asked her to draw what the piece looked like.

She drew a circle and in the middle of it wrote 710. The mechanic looked at her picture and scratched his head.

He then took her over to another car which had the hood up and asked, "Is there a 710 on this car?"

She pointed and said, "Of course, it's right there."
