This was a nice traveling day. The temperature hit mid 60s this afternoon. Bright sunshine all day. Dramatic sunset with just a sliver of the moon showing.

I made a change in the route today. Originally I had asked The Navigator to route us along the the Gulf of Mexico. I figured, since the season is over, that traffic would not be too bad. I was wrong.

After sitting in bumper to bumper traffic on US-90 near Tallahassee, FL, I decided to forsake the Gulf drive and just take I-10 West. The Navigator, as you might imagine, was none too happy about this. He ranted and raved about all his hard work going down the drain. He abandoned his Navigator post and spent much of the day in the back of the van having a major snit. Late this afternoon I offered to buy him off with two Greenies. He reluctantly agreed to come back and resume his post.

Tonight we're camped at a Flying J truck stop in New Hope, MS.

Tomorrow I hope to make it to Texas, but I don't know if we'll make Austin.

The Navigator living in snitsville in the back of the van. Florida Capital. Very pretty building. The Spanish moss really sets it off. This is the Florida Department of Education Building. A kangaroo crane being used to build a tall building in downtown Tallahassee, FL.
Another sign for June :) I know everybody's been anxiously waiting for a pic of the Gulf of Mexico. So, here ya go. The Navigator talked the sandpiper into posing for free. Hmmm... this town has already put up their Christmas decorations. Must be the day before Thanksgiving :) I hear June may have to rent a storage locker to store all of her signs.

I love pine trees!

Here's a revealing thought from June in SC:

If you sometimes get a sudden urge to run around naked, drink some Windex. It will keep you from streaking.

Some simple home remedies from Ralph in Moldova:

1. A mouse trap, placed on top of your alarm clock, will prevent you from rolling over and going back to sleep after you hit the snooze button.

2. If you have a bad cough, take a large dose of laxatives, then you will be afraid to cough.

3. Clumsy? Avoid cutting yourself while slicing vegetables by getting someone else to hold them while you chop away.

4. For high blood pressure sufferers: simply cut yourself and bleed for a few minutes, thus reducing the pressure in your veins. Remember to use a timer.

5. Have a bad headache? Smash your thumb with a hammer and you will forget about the headache.

6. Sometimes, we just need to remember what the rules of life really are:

You only need two tools: WD-40 and Duct Tape.
If it doesn't move and should, use the WD-40.
If it shouldn't move and does, use the duct tape.
And some bonus ideas:

Everyone seems normal until you get to know them.

Never pass up an opportunity to go to the bathroom.

If you woke up breathing, congratulations! You get another chance.

And finally, be really nice to your family and friends; you never know when you might need them to empty your bedpan!!
