We left Silver Spring, MD this morning about 9am.

Drove to Annapolis, MD, the capital of Maryland, and took a pic of the capitol.

Then we drove to Dover, DE and did the same thing.

Then we headed for the ferry. Along the way we met a huge Amish man and visited a UFO. See the pics below.

The ferry ride was interesting. Large ferry! Holds 100 cars. The trip is about 17 miles and takes 80 minutes. See the pics below.

Two of the pix below are of Atlantus, a concrete ship that sank off Cape May, NJ in June, 1926. It was almost sunset when I took the pix. Which is appropriate, since the beach is named Sunset Beach :) So the pix aren't very good. Follow this link for more info and a much better picture.

Tomorrow I finally get to meet The Navigator's mysterious friend Lucy. I'm looking forward to this, I guess :)

The Maryland state capitol. The statue to the left is of Thurgood Marshall. This sign is near the capitol. The information is very interesting. Who knew the capitol of Maryland was once the capitol of the US? Not me :) Here's your sign June. And a run down red barn at no charge :) To make it even better, how about two signs for the price of one?
The state capitol of Delaware in Dover. Kinda plain and symmetrical. This Amish man stands in front of a used car lot on US-113 in Milford, DE. Orange palm trees? I guess there's no accounting for taste :) Beam me up! This UFO house is also in Milford, DE.
I suspect Milford, DE is a very strange place. This Fountain of Youth is in Lewes, DE. Only problem is that it looks like the fountain dried up a long time ago. There's a great deal of speculation about this house, also in Lewes. Much of the speculation has to do with the color of the house. Maybe we should pool our cash and bet on green? This is a World War II watch tower on the Delaware shore line. I also saw one of these in South NJ later in the day but didn't take a picture of it.
The ferry. A ferry like the one we were on but going the other way. The ferry dock in Cape May, NJ. We'll dock where the blue and yellow markers are. The ferry captain docked it perfectly. Didn't even feel it when the ferry touched the dock.
Off the ferry and here's another sign for June. Look where I had to park to take this pic :) A sign explaining Atlantus. There's what's left of Atlantus. Follow the link mentioned above for more info.

From Pat in AZ:

George Carlin's Views on Aging

(You've probably seen this before but it bears repeating...)

Do you realize that the only time in our lives when we like to get old is when we're kids? If you're less than 10 years old, you're so excited about aging that you think in fractions.

"How old are you?" "I'm four and a half!" You're never thirty-six and a half. You're four and a half, going on five!

That's the key.

You get into your teens, now they can't hold you back. You jump to the next number, or even a few ahead.

"How old are you?" "I'm gonna be 16!" You could be 13, but hey, you're gonna be 16! And then the greatest day of your life . . . you become 21. Even the words sound like a ceremony . . YOU BECOME 21. YESSSS!!!

But then you turn 30. Oooohh, what happened there? Makes you sound like bad milk! He TURNED; we had to throw him out. There's no fun now, you're just a sour-dumpling What's wrong? What's changed?

You BECOME 21, you TURN 30, then you're PUSHING 40.

Whoa! Put on the brakes, it's all slipping away. Before you know it, you REACH 50 and your dreams are gone.

But wait!!! You MAKE it to 60. You didn't think you would!

So you BECOME 21, TURN 30, PUSH 40, REACH 50 and MAKE it to 60.

You've built up so much speed that you HIT 70! After that it's a day-by-day thing; you HIT Wednesday!

You get into your 80s and every day is a complete cycle; you HIT lunch; you TURN 4:30; you REACH bedtime.

And it doesn't end there. Into the 90s, you start going backwards; "I was JUST 92."

Then a strange thing happens. If you make it over 100, you become a little kid again. "I'm 100 and a half!"

May you all make it to a healthy 100 and a half!!
