Looking at the flags above, you might get the idea we spent the entire day in South Dakota. Nothing could be further from the truth :)

We drove North into North Dakota to visit the capital Bismarck. After taking a pic of the capitol which you can see below, we drove South back into South Dakota to Pierre where we spent the night.

The dearly departed Chevy Astro Van had a 28 gallon gas tank. The baby pickup truck we're using now has a 20 gallon gas tank. So, the truck must be gassed up more often than the van. And today was a first. We bought gas three times today.

Tomorrow we'll visit Mount Rushmore. A first for me, looking forward to it.

I hope June is enjoying all her signs :) You can read, right? Below the capitol you'll notice red and white. It spells "North Dakota" in red and white flowers. Unfortunately, there was no way to get a good angle to take a pic of the flowers. Looks pretty isolated, right? Believe me, it is. Notice the absence of power and or telephone poles. Charlie fails miserably in trying to get artsy fartsy with a sunset pic.

Five more things to think about from Denise in IN:

1. Business conventions are important because they demonstrate how many people a company can operate without.

2. Why is it that at class reunions you feel younger than everyone else looks?

3. Scratch a dog and you'll find a permanent job.

4. No one has more driving ambition than the boy who wants to buy a car.

5. There are no new sins; the old ones just get more publicity.

From Angela in NC:

No joke today. But here's a really neat animation instead.
