The trip was delayed by one day do to unforeseen problems that were absolutely not my fault, honest. 'Nuff said.

The Navigator (who has agreed, under duress, to accept responsibility for us leaving a day late :) and I left Aiken County at 7:30am. We drove up I-20 to Columbia, SC and then I-77 to Charlotte, NC, then West to Shelby, NC where we picked up Pat.

Then we drove West to Swananoa, NC. Along the way we drove a fantastic switch back road. See pix below. In Swananoa we went to the dealer where I bought the camper. There were several small things I wanted to get fixed.

Then, we "officially" began the trip. The first part is mostly hammer down driving until we get to Kansas. To that end we high tailed it across Tennessee on I-40 and are currently camped at a truck stop in Hermatage, TN near Nashville.

Tonight will be the first night in the camper.

Apologies to June. Sorry about the North Carolina sign below. The traffic was just too heavy to pull over and take a pic.

The Navigator has such a great attitude. Always ready to jump in and lend a hand paw. This stream runs beside the switch back road mentioned up above. Very pretty. The boulders are huge! Here's the new rig. The truck is a 2004 Ford Ranger XLT pickup. The top on the camper cranks up. A pic of that maybe tomorrow. Another rig pic.
Here ya go June!

What kind of American accent do you have? Go take this 16 question quiz and find out. It nailed me as having a Southern accent. Which, considering I spent the majority of my life in Kentucky and, lately, in South Carolina, is not surprising.

From Linda in KY:

Blonde Caller: "Can you give me the telephone number for Jack?"

Operator: "I'm sorry, I don't understand who you are talking about".

Blonde Caller: "On page 1 section 5 of the user guide it clearly states that I need to unplug the fax machine from the AC wall socket and telephone Jack before cleaning. Now, can you please give me the number for Jack?"
