Before we get into the trip, I need to write a little bit about The Navigator. First, The Navigator now has his own Gmail email address,
t h e m i g h t y n a v i g a t o r @ g m a i l . c o m
Remove the spaces to use the email. He has been using the email address to communicate with his female doggie friends. Or, at least that is what he claims. He has grudgingly agreed to respond should any of our dear readers send him an email.

Second, since he is The Navigator, he wants me to stress that he does not get lost all the time; he merely discovers alternative destinations. Yeah, right.

US Route 78, hereinafter referred to as US-78, begins/ends in Charleston, SC and ends/begins when it runs under I-240, the loop around Memphis, TN, and becomes Lamar Avenue.

On this trip we'll follow US-78 from Charleston to Memphis.

We won't be using any Interstate highways on this trip, except for a three mile section of US-78 that runs along with I-20 just west of Pell City in Alabama. .

Full details about our ride are here in the Route Overview.

Some other items of note:

  • Those of you that don't know my personal email address can email using the Drivetrips Email. The address is:
    d r i v e t r i p s @ g m a i l . c o m
Remove the spaces to use the email.
