Today's Narrative

Today we traveled from Hopewell, VA to Lexington, VA.

We got a late start.

Much of today's narrative in in the picture descriptions below.

Today we traveled from the coastal plain of Virginia up into the mountains. It was interesting to watch the changing terrain.

We are currently camped in the Wal*Mart parking lot in Lexington, VA. There are a bunch of RVs and 18 wheelers here.

I'm gonna watch a DVD movie and hit the sack. Good night!

You'll notice in the stats below that we started our travels at 2:45pm today. This is a picture of the ever hard working Navigator taking a coffee break. This break started about 2:46pm and lasted until about 4:30pm when I unwrapped a candy bar and the sound of the wrapper brought him out of his reverie :) Downtown Richmond, VA. This picture is extra special. I was able, I have been sworn to secrecy and can't tell you how, to take a picture of a meeting of the local Heavy Machinery Mafia. It is very unusual for this much heavy machinery to be together at one time. This is another special picture. This picture captures the rare fresh water shark as he leaps from the water trying to catch some supper. He missed. There are some ducks swimming just to the left of the picture. I guess that's what he was trying to catch.
This pix was taken in Amherst, VA looking west. If you look closely you can see the mountains in the distance. Lexington, VA, where we are camped, is on the other side of those mountains. Best of luck to you, too!

Thought For The Day

Five more strange, but true, country music song titles:

"If Fingerprints Showed Up on Skin, Wonder Whose I'd Find on You"

"It Ain't Love But It Ain't Bad"

"I've Been Flushed from the Bathroom of Your Heart"

"I'm the Only Hell Mamma Ever Raised"

"I Got in at 2 with a 10 and Woke Up at 10 with a 2"                <-- My all time favorite :)

Joke Of The Day

From Yvon Gelinas in ??:

A Golden Oldie that's still funny:

Moses and Jesus were in a threesome playing golf one day. Moses pulled up to the tee and drove a long one. The ball landed in the fairway, but rolled directly toward a water hazard. Quickly Moses raised his club over his head, the water parted and the ball rolled to the other side, safe and sound.

Next, Jesus strolled up to the tee and hit a nice long one directly toward the same water hazard. It landed right in the center of the pond and kind of hovered over the water. Jesus casually walked out on the pond and chipped the ball onto the green.

The third guy got up and randomly whacked the ball. It headed out over the fence and into oncoming traffic on a nearby street. It bounced off a truck and hit a nearby tree. From there, it bounced onto the roof of a shack close by and rolled down into the gutter, down the drain spout, out onto the fairway and straight toward the aforementioned pond. On the way to the pond, the ball hit a stone and bounced out over the water onto a lily pad, where it rested quietly. Suddenly a very large bullfrog jumped up on a lily pad and snatched the ball into his mouth. Just then, an eagle swooped down and grabbed the frog and flew away. As they passed over the green, the frog squealed with fright and dropped the ball, which bounced right into the cup for a hole in one.

Moses turned to Jesus and said, "I hate playing with your Dad."
