Route 2 - Day 05 - Sunday, June 23, 2004

 Today's Narrative

This was a day of fun and a day of continuing the trip.

We started off with a Birthday Party for Ruby who is 87 today. See pix below. Then we traveled up I65 into Indiana to Scottsburg for a visit with Denise and Dwayne (no relation). Finally, about 6pm we hit the road for real and continued up I65 to Indianapolis then to I69 and then to Andserson, IN where we spent the night in a Menard's parking lot. Watched a DVD and hit the sack about 12am.

Today we traveled from Louisville, KY to Scottsburg, IN, then to Anderson, IN.

The Birthday Party participants, left to right: Teresa, Ruby the Guest Of Honor, Ian, Lori, Sue, Judy. My friend Denise who is VERY shy :) She is a dog friend and has Border Collies. My other friend Dwayne. He has Labs. Good luck with the new job my friend! FWIW, the combination of Denise, Dwayne and yours truly is very dangerous! Small countries have been destroyed just through our collective thought processes. A review of our antics would probably be summed up as: "I laughed so hard I pissed my pants!"

 Thought For The Day

Education is the ability to listen to almost anything without losing your temper.
 Joke Of The Day

Every Sunday, a little old lady placed $1,000 in the collection plate. This went on for weeks until the pastor, overcome by curiosity, approached her.

"Ma'am, I couldn't help but notice that you put $1,000 a week in the collection plate," he stated.

"Why yes," she replied, "every week my son sends me money, and what I don't need I give to the church."

The pastor replied... "That's wonderful, how much does he send you?"

The old lady said.... "Oh, $20,000 a week."

The pastor was amazed... "Your son must be very successful, what does he do for a living?

"He is a veterinarian," she answered.

"That is a very honorable profession, "the pastor says. "Where does he practice?"

The old lady says proudly.... "Well, he has two cat houses in Las Vegas and one in Reno."
