Back out on I75 headed north. Found two trucks going about 80 MPH (the speed limit in KY is 65) so I trailed them. Chatted with the drivers on the CB.
As we were driving north I was listening to WHAS radio out of Louisville. During the traffic reports they were talking about bridge construction that had the hammer lane closed on I64 right outside of Louisville. (FWIW, I64 runs east-west between Lexington, KY and Louisville, KY. We're headed north on I75 to Lexington and will "make a left on I64" to get to Louisville.) As the morning wore on and they continued to report on this, the backup they reported kept getting longer and longer. It got to three miles of stop and go traffic. I decided I didn't want to put up with this. US 60 parallels I64 between Lexington and Louisville so I decided I would take 60 rather than I64.
We got to Louisville about 1:15pm. I want to say a very big thank you to my ex-wife Sue for letting me borrow a spare bedroom the next few days. THANK YOU, SUE!!
Today we traveled from Livingston, KY to Louisville, KY.
Food, ice, etc.: $2
Lodging: $0 - Thank you Sue!
And, with that in mind, what's the shortest sentence in the English language? Answer: I am. There's another correct, answer but it's much longer: I do :)
"I've always wanted to have someone to hold, someone to love.
After having met you, I've changed my mind."
"I must admit, you brought religion into my life.
I never believed in Hell till I met you."
"Looking back over the years that we've been together, I can't
help but wonder:
What the heck was I thinking?"
"As the days go by, I think of how lucky I am that you're not here to ruin it for me."
"If I get only one thing for Christmas, I hope it's your sister."
(There will be more cards later in the trip.)
