Had some technical difficulties this morning when I booted up the notebook computer. First, the WiFi programs did not appear in the system tray. Looking at the device manager, I discovered the WiFi radio was disabled. I suspect The Navigator is to blame. Apparently he was up during the night visiting his doggie porn sites (I can always tell because he doesn't clear his browsing history :). I reenabled the radio and it works fine. Second, Kerio, the firewall, has forgotten all its rules. I don't have a clue on this one. Fortunately, Kerio is a quick learner.

We spent about three hours today following the river as it wound its way through Minneapolis, MN. We got to see a lot of the town. This afternoon we were back to two lane roads. I much prefer the two lane roads. Very simple, nice and quiet.

Tonight we're camped at the Wal*Mart in Winona, MN.

We'll probably get into the northern-most areas of flooding tomorrow. I expect we'll have to modify the route. The Navigator, fresh from his time out for his dog poop prank, says he's ready. We'll see.

You can always tell when you're in an area where it snows a lot. They put snow flags on the fire hydrants. Guess where we camped last night? The river near Rice, MN. Looks peaceful and serene, doesn't it? The river seems to get wider as it goes along. This pic was taken near Champlin, MN.
Pretty flowers along the riverside. The river with the Minneapolis, MN skyline in the background. This is the Ford Lock and Dam which is just south of Minneapolis. The dam is in the foreground and the lock, look for the American flag, is in the background.

Ready for some more groaners? Here ya go...

Police were called to a day care where a three- year-old was resisting a rest.

Did you hear about the guy whose whole left side was cut off? He's all right now.

The roundest knight at King Arthur's round table was Sir Cumference.

The butcher backed up into the meat grinder and got a little behind in his work.

To write with a broken pencil is pointless.

When fish are in schools they sometimes take debate.

From Chuck in IN:

This is especially for Denise in IN :)

A man was seated on a crowded bus, standing room only. The bus stopped, and an elderly lady got on with a large picnic basket. She stood in front of the man with her covered basket carried slightly above the seated man's head. Noticing her age, and being a man of good old-fashioned chivalry, he offered her his seat.

"No thank you, sir. I'm getting off in 2 blocks." But soon the picnic basket started leaking on top of the good samaritan's head. When he looked up, some drops hit his nose and ran down his lips. Instinctively, he tasted them. "Mmm, good! You got home-canned dill pickles in there, don't you?"

"No, sir, no pickles. Just an 8-week old Chihuahua puppy."
