A special thanks to high school friend Pat for putting up with The Navigator and me the last couple of days. We had a great time!

We are currently camped in a Wally World parking lot in Lake Havasu City, AZ. We are at the Western most point of the trip and will turn East tomorrow.

Pat told me that Lake Havasu City was one of the hottest places in Arizona, probably because it's not that far from Death Valley, California. And she's right! It's 9pm and I don't have a thermometer, but I'll bet it's in the high 80s/low 90s. I hope it cools off some more. Sleeping in this will be not be fun.

I had an interesting, first time experience today. No, not that... I lost my virginity a long time ago J You'll notice below in the stats that I bought gas for $2.999/gal. I had been looking for a good gas price. But all the stations seemed to be stuck on $3.299/gal. So, I finally gave up and pulled into a Love's truck stop in Quartsite, AZ. Their huge electronic sign said $3.299. The gas pump said $3.299. So I opened the gas filler door on the van and removed the gas cap. When I turned around to stick my debit card in the gas pump, the price had changed to $2.999/gal. It was like magic and at first I didn't realize what had happened. Then I glanced up at the big electronic sign and it said $2.999 also. So the price went down $.30 in one step. Who can understand these gas prices?

We'll turn 3,000 miles on this trip early tomorrow. Wonderful trip so far.

Friend Pat, doing two of her fav things, yakking on the phone and cooking. The grilled cheese sandwich was yummy! I'm always a sucker for a waving American flag. Sunset... Sunset...
And more sunset. Absolutely beautiful!

This is a panoramic pic of Parker Lake. This is between Quartsite, AZ and Lake Havasu, AZ on Hwy-95.

This pic is made up of four pix expertly combined by the Autostitch program.

A real groaner [no kidding!] from Gordon in ATL:

Hank goes to the shrink because he's having bad dreams and thinks he's loosing his mind.

The shrink listens carefully and says, "OK, Hank, I can help you, but we need to study your dreams. I want you to keep a record of your dreams and tell me about them next week."

A week later Hank goes back to the shrink. The shrink says, "Tell me about your dreams this past week."

Hank says, "Well, doc, I had the same dream all week long. I kept dreaming I was a pup tent. Some days it rained, some days it was hot, but I was just a pup tent"

The shrink says, "Very interesting continue logging your dreams and come back next week"

A week later Hank reports to the shrink and says, "This week my dreams were a little different. Instead of being a pup tent, I was a circus tent full of clowns and lions."

The shrink exclaims, "I have it! Your problem is very simple, Hank. You're just too tense."
