Cheri in South Carolina emailed me this morning. Apparently she had notice that we camped in Perrysburg, Ohio last night. Her email was to ask me if I knew about the large mosque in Perrysburg. I did not. So, using Google as my friend, I discovered the street address. The Navigator whipped up a quick route diversion and we went and visited the mosque. Quite spectacular. See pix below.

We drove on I-75 quite a bit today in order to get through Toledo and Detroit. I just have no desire to drive surface streets there in a pickup truck with a camper and a South Carolina license plate. I'll do the same thing when we get to Chicago and Milwaukee (if you'll recall, we drove all over Milwaukee on the Mississippi River Exploration trip; no reason to do that again).

Today we said goodbye to Lake Erie and hello to Lake Huron. See pix below.

Three lakes down, two to go. The Navigator tells me we have about 2,000 miles left on this trip. And that doesn't include driving home. 2,000 seems like a lot to me. But, he's The Navigator :)

Tonight we're camped in Saginaw, Michigan. You can guess where :)

Tomorrow we'll continue south along Lake Huron and put up with Chicago. I hope we can make Lake Michigan tomorrow, but that will be a push.

Questions and answers about Australian tourism
Background information is here

From the USA:
Q: Can you give me some information about hippo racing in Australia?

A: A-fri-ca is the big triangle shaped continent south of Europe. Aus-tra-lia is that big island in the middle of the Pacific which does not .... oh forget it. Sure, the hippo racing is every Tuesday night in Kings Cross. Come naked.

From the USA:
Q: Can you send me the Vienna Boys' Choir schedule?

A: Aus-tri-a is that quaint little country bordering Ger-man-y, which is ... oh forget it. Sure, the Vienna Boys Choir plays every Tuesday night in Kings Cross, straight after the hippo races. Come naked.

This is the mosque in Perrysburgh, OH. They are holding an "international festival" there this weekend. More info here.
Here ya go June. Lake Huron. That little boy is a hard-case. The Navigator wanted him to pose on the shore but the kid wanted $5 to do that. I had to loan The Navigator $5 against his allowance.

A quick question from Rich in NH:

If you fall off your bike and get back on, are you recycling?

From Denise in IN:

A man walks into a sex shop and asks for a female blow up doll.

The clerk asks, "Do you want a Christian doll or a Muslim doll?"

The man asks, "What's the difference?"

The clerk replies, "The Muslim blows herself up."
